Being in the Forces is not a routine day to-day job. Deployment is what the people in the army, navy and airforce train and prepare for; it is at the heart of what they do. Deployment brings special challenges for those left at home. It affects family life and tests our ability to cope with change.
Transition is the process that military children and their families go through when preparing to move on a new posting or are leaving the service community at the end of the serving persons military career. Transition is a unique experience for everyone and individuals will react to the process very differently, i.e. some will transition well and integrate into their new environment, others will struggle and require support.
